What began with 15 beers and a few employees in the parking lot of Acadiana Center for the Arts in 2007 has turned into one of Lafayette’s greatest annual events. The city of Albertville has a rich musical heritage. Piney Chapel American Farm Heritage Days is an annual event held in the Piney Chapel community just north of the city of Athens. It showcases some of the rarest and most beautifully restored antique farm equipment and machinery from the past, such as, hit & miss engines, horse drawn equipment, tractors, antique trucks and more. Friday starts off with a 20-mile tractor ride through Limestone County’s countryside and ends back at the fairgrounds with live Bluegrass, Country and Gospel music. The Kentucky State Fair is an 11-day celebration of the history, heritage and culture of the Bluegrass State. America’s largest indoor fair uses over 1.2 million square feet of contiguous exhibit space at the Kentucky Exposition Center. Rooted in agriculture, the Kentucky State Fair has grown into a trade and public education exposition, as well as a major entertainment venue. Free concerts are held every evening in the Cardinal Stadium and the Main Stage Concert Series is held in historic Freedom Hall. The World’s Championship Horse Show, held during the Fair, is the world’s richest and most prestigious Saddlebred event. This year, The Kentucky State Fair is promoting one of the state’s signature products—bourbon. Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival is one of the oldest on-going free Bluegrass festivals in the United States. The Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation’s Annual Perspectives: Georgia Pottery Invitational is one of the largest pottery events in the southeast region.
