BROOKHAVEN, GA (JUNE 3, 2024)–Explore Brookhaven is thrilled to announce the appointment of David Kemp as the Director of City Centre Events and International Sales. Having joined in May 2024, Kemp brings extensive expertise in event planning, sales initiatives and community engagement, making him an exceptional addition to the organization.

In his new role, Kemp will oversee the planning, execution and profitability of City Centre events, driving sales initiatives across domestic and international markets and spearheading area community events. Kemp’s leadership will extend to providing coaching and mentoring to stakeholders, sales and event teams, area hotels and local partners, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and excellence.
Previously, Kemp served as Membership and Partnership Manager for Southeast Tourism Society (STS), a destination management organization representing a 13-state region and Washington D.C., where he focused on membership recruitment, partnership programs and advocacy for tourism industry professionals. Kemp’s tenure at STS also saw him leading the organization’s Domestic Showcase program, further highlighting his capability in managing large-scale events and partnerships.
Kemp’s professional journey includes his role as Vice President of Global Sales & Media Relations for Travel South USA, and more than 30 years of experience in hotel sales, marketing and operations. His impressive career features senior positions at U.S Franchise Systems and Cendant Corporation, where he developed strategic branding and managed extensive sales operations.
A native of Rome, Ga., Kemp resides in Atlanta and holds a BA degree from Shorter College and an MBA from Mercer University. He is also working towards his Travel Marketing Professional (TMP) designation from the Southeast Tourism Society, having completed the first of the three-year curriculum at Marketing College.
