BROOKHAVEN, GA (APRIL 10, 2024) – Explore Brookhaven has announced the appointment of John Pricher as the vice president of marketing. With more than 25 years of experience in destination marketing, Pricher brings a wealth of expertise and a proven track record of success to this new role.

In this newly created role, Pricher will lead the organization’s strategic marketing initiatives, shaping the narrative of Explore Brookhaven and fostering a sense of belonging within the community. With a focus on amplifying the brand voice, Pricher will showcase Brookhaven’s vibrant culture, diverse amenities, and welcoming atmosphere to a broader audience. His leadership comes at a pivotal moment for Explore Brookhaven as it expands its efforts to promote tourism, economic development, and community vitality in Brookhaven, Ga. Anchored by the tagline ‘Belong Here,’ Pricher’s vision will reinforce Brookhaven’s position as a premier destination where everyone can find their place and create lasting memories.

Pricher’s career began in Gainesville, Fla., where he played pivotal roles at the Alachua County Visitors and Convention Bureau, now known as Visit Gainesville, ultimately serving as executive director for two decades. In 2017, he transitioned to lead Discover Crystal River, where he orchestrated unprecedented success, culminating in the prestigious VISIT FLORIDAⓇ Henry Flagler Best In Show Award in 2020 for marketing excellence, along with achieving three consecutive years of record Tourist Development Tax collections.
Throughout his career, Pricher has been actively involved in the tourism industry, serving on the Board of Directors for esteemed organizations such as the Southeast Tourism Society and Destinations Florida. He has also made significant contributions to VISIT FLORIDA’s Marketing Committee and the Destinations International Professional Development Committee. Pricher holds certifications as a Certified Destination Marketing Executive from Destinations International and a Tourism Marketing Professional from the Southeast Tourism Society. A native Floridian and a graduate of the University of Florida, Pricher’s impressive athletic background includes being a four-time letterwinner for baseball from 1989 to 1992. He further solidified his legacy by playing four years professionally for the MLB’s California Angels, today the Los Angeles Angels, setting a record for saves in the Northwest League that remains unbroken to this day.
