Woodstock’s Theatre Season

There’s no better time to experience the theatrical arts in Woodstock. As recipients of nine Metropolitan Atlanta Theatre Awards, the productions at Woodstock Arts bring professional and semi-professional talent to the greater northern Atlanta area. Celebrating a “Season of Community”, Woodstock Arts is proud to present a season that explores what it means to be a community, through all the peaks and valleys of life. Theatre goers can expect to see productions suitable for a variety of audiences such as “The Spongebob Musical,” “Steel Magnolias” and “9 to 5 The Musical”, among many more. Woodstock Arts Visual Exhibitions
Experience some of the most interesting visual art exhibits in the area with Woodstock Arts. These free thought-provoking exhibits leave a lasting impression. From exhibits focused on featuring Southern artists to creative kids, there’s always something interesting to see. Celebrate the next generation of artists with Creative Kids, a showcase of the incredible talents of K-12 aged artists, on display December 14, 2023, through January 14, 2024, at The Reeve’s House Visual Arts Center. You won’t want to miss Please Touch the Art, on display from mid-January through the end of March, which provides an immersive and sensory experience by allowing you to connect with the artwork on a deeper level. This is a truly memorable exhibit for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy art. Take a unique look at the tiny yet vast world of miniature art will be on display with Life in Miniature, showing art that occupies only a few inches of space, some of which are so tiny they can only be seen through a magnifying glass or microscope. Or peruse the talent within the Southern region at All the Fixins, featuring a varied selection of artists from the South. This juried show will showcase artwork submitted by regional artists for consideration by a panel of judges.
In addition to exhibits, visual arts are celebrated year-round with events happening monthly. Events such as Jazz Night, Woodstock Arts Film Festival and Art on the Green keep the arts at the forefront of this active community. Calling all film enthusiasts, this one is for you! Over the last several years, Woodstock has become a hotbed for film productions of all kinds and thanks to the Filmed in Cherokee App, visitors can now experience a behind-the-scenes tour of fan favorite film locations. Launched by the Cherokee County Office of Economic Development, the free app is available in your smart device app store. The app takes users through an interactive experience highlighting film locations from television and movies. In addition to the interactive experience, the app also features on-set photos, insider stories and interesting facts about why the particular location was selected for filming.
